Departure from Rome following the “Strada del Sole” for the fascinating territory of Naples which is enriched with culture, traditions and history.

Naples is the capital of the Campania region, is located along the bay and offers spectacular views of the sea and the nearby ancient city of Pompeii and the romantic island of Capri. Over 2,500 years ago Naples was founded by the Ancient Greeks as Neapolis, which means New City. The city is synonymous with spaghetti, buffalo mozzarella and is the cradle of pizza.

Upon arrival in Naples, stop for 1 hour in the historic center where we will see:

Piazza del Plebiscito – Theater of San Carlo – Galleria Umberto I – Maschio Angioino – Castel dell’Ovo – Panoramic view of Posillipo.

Pompeii

Continue our tour to the once lost city of Pompeii. Fascinating and mysterious, Pompeii is one of the most famous and popular sites to visit.

Since its discovery in the 1700s, Pompeii continues to amaze archaeologists, giving us a glimpse of life in Roman times.

Buried under a thick blanket of ash, the ancient city of Pompeii was destroyed by the sudden 79 AD eruption of the Vesuvius volcano, fossilizing thousands of citizens in less than twenty-four hours.

For almost 2000 years Pompeii was hidden from the modern world and only in 1748 was it slowly reintroduced thanks to the excavation campaign started by Charles of Bourbon, king of the Two Sicilies.

Enjoy a 2-hour tour with a local expert guide of the excavation site of the old city of Pompeii.

At the end of the visit to Pompeii you will have the opportunity to visit and learn about the production of corals in the local factories and make purchases in the traditional shops of the area.
